To get involved on any committee please contact the
Metro Board.
Nominations
Committee
The Nominations Committee
is responsible for the elections of Board members
Summer
-
Secure 2-4 additional members for Committee (Additional members needed
to print ballots; address, stamp, and mail ballots; help tally results
in November.)
- Begin encouraging members
to think about running for Office by placing ads in Sept/Oct newsletter,
MetroBits, word of mouth.
September
General Meeting
- run the nominations process. Ask for attendees to nominate themselves
or someone else for each position. Nominees much be seconded. Nominees
do not have to be present. Positions are:
President
Vice President
President elect (will become Prez 1 year later; attends Board meetings,
non-voting)
Treasurer
Secretary
Associate Rep (Non-certified)
Directors-At-Large (elect 2 the other 2 positions are carried over
from the prior year)
WITHIN
7 DAYS AFTER SEPT. GENERAL MEETING
- Contact all absent nominees to verify willingness to be
nominated
WITHIN
14 DAYS AFTER SEPTEMBER MEETING
- Get address labels from Membership chair containing all NYC Metro
RID Certified and Associate members in good standing.
- On labels, have Membership chair
type "ATTN: BALLOTS".
- Print and copy ballots.
- Mail ballot to all and enclose self-addressed stamped envelope to
NYC Metro RID office.
- Deadline should be October 31 or at least 14 days AFTER ballots
are mailed, whichever is earlier.
WITHIN
7 DAYS AFTER POSTED DEADLINE
- Collect ballots from Metro office via Office Manager.
- At least 3 people on Nominations Committee
tally the ballots.
- If nominated, person(s) should
not tally and Chair must find replacement(s).
- Once tabulated, inform President of results.
NOVEMBER
GENERAL MEETING
- Announce results of election. Submit receipts to Treasurer for Ballot
mailing and printing reimbursement.
